The leaves are starting to turn colors and the mums are dotting porches along Laurenwood and Braewood.

Summer work is done and there was quite a lot accomplished. We painted the exterior fences, repaired concrete throughout the neighborhood and trimmed back trees and shrubs. Many of you painted your homes using the new approved color palette. I am anxious to see more of these new colors brighten and update the look of our homes.

We put the pool to rest for the summer amid some heated discussions about pool policies and security. The board of directors is looking into a better security system for next summer, and a revised list of rules and regulations will be developed. The goal is to make pool available for the enjoyment of ALL Villages residents and to reduce abuses of pool privileges. Look for more on the 2011 pool season after the holidays.

Lastly, watch for the Fall Newsletter in your mailbox soon. The newsletter will be posted here on the blog as well. If you would like to read it here and not receive the mailing, please call Western States and have them take you off of the mailing list.

Enjoy the season!
Lynn Bryant

2010 Pool Rules and Regulations - The Villages at Highlands Ranch

*The pool is intended to be used by the Residents and Guests of The Villages at Highlands Ranch. *

No lifeguard on duty
Swim at your own risk
Residents only are allowed. If you are like me, you spend your winter making a list of things to do in and around your home once the weather warms up.

Painting is one of those to-dos that come around every 5 to 8 years. It isn't an inexpensive ordeal, but the results can improve your home value, and the overall look of the neighborhood.

With that in mind, let me reiterate the process for painting your home here in The Villages at Highlands Ranch.

First of all, understand that the approval process is managed here within the Villages, not by the Highlands Ranch Architectural Committee. Please do not request approval from them, or you may end up painting your home twice.

1. Request the approved paint color pallette from Lynn Bryant at 1347 W. Braewood Ave. 303-521-9625.
2. Choose a color from the approved pallette, and please do not choose a color already present in your pod.
3. Choose your door color. There are suggestions in the pallete, but door colors are your choice, although they still need approval.
4. Choose from one of the 5 trim colors in the pallate packet.
5. Enter your choices on the form provided.
6. Return the entire packet to Lynn. The board will review and inform you of approval within a few days.

Please call if you have additional questions.
Lynn

http://www.hrcaonline.org/NewsEvents/NewsFullStory.aspx?NewsID=89
Hello Everyone!

Click on the link above for the draft 2010 Budget for the HRCA that was presented at the last meeting of the delegates. We are expected to vote on it at our next meeting which will be on November 17, 2009.
There will be no increase in the assessment for the residents in 2010. I asked the question that since there was no proposed increase in the assessment for the year 2010, is there anything in the forecast for expenditures for future years for extra increase above the CPI? I was told that there was none warranted at this time.
From what I have seen so far, I am inclined to vote for the proposed budget. However, I will continue to abide by my principle of proportioning my vote based on the input of my constituents when it concerns spending their money. I am therefore requesting your input as you feel is appropriate. Please send me your input by November 12, 2009.

Thanks.

Suresh

Suresh B. Damle, Ph.D.1325 W. This means that concrete will be patched, sealed or in some cases replaced.

Please keep your areas clear that week so that the concrete folks can access those areas. If this presents a problem for you, please contact Randy at Western States prior to the 21st. 303-745-2220

Welcome to The Villages at Highlands Ranch

This is a new feature that is designed to be informative and interactive for the residents of The Villages, located in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

The forum will allow the board of directors as well as Western States and DLC landscaping to keep residents aware of the happenings around our neighborhood.
